Shows 2014 - Shows : Gércei-Vadász Queen - G.V. Zenith “Drago” - G.V. Duci - G.V. Báró
During the month of March 2014 Gércei-Vadász Queen got her diploma “FCI Champion de Beauté” and is the second Russian vizsla owning this highly coveted title. Once more the proof that a good vizsla can be a nice vizsla too.
Early February 2014 G.V. Zenith “Drago” (with Bernadette van Drie) and G.V. Duci (with Evelien Vercauteren) have been at the international dog show at Eindhoven (NL) and they left the show ring with the qualification “Excellent” in open class. Milou Snel has been there too with her G.V. Báró and qualified 1st place “Very Good” in youth class.
The day after, G.V. Duci made a placement “Very Good” at the dog show at Genk (B). Dear owners, we highly appreciate the fact that you are showing your vizsla and we are very grateful for it.
Hunting Trials 2014 - Luppa-Vadász Zerge
On the 17th of April 2014, one day before she has been mated, my female Luppa-Vadász Zerge made a 1st place “Good” on an open field trial in Austria. Her point was very nice but her course was not at the same level, surely due to her seasons, and this reduced the qualification to “Good”. All in all she is one of the very few vizslas that made a placement on partridges in the spring season 2014.
Hunting Trials 2013 - G.V. Zenith Drago
G.V. Zenith “Drago” handled by his owner Mrs Bernadette van Drie gained in the Netherlands during the autumn 2013 a KNJV-B and a KNJV-C certificate for the work after the shooting.
Ther they got a “Honarable Mention” for the good job they did on a “all breeds” field trial too and in Ploegsteert (Belgium) on September 21 they have been the winners of a “Amateur Field Trial” with the mention “Very Good” beating 13 other continental pointing dogs.
As you can see on the picture taken after the competition they enjoyed this success very much.
Over de rainbow bridge
Our feelings are going to following owners which lost their vizsla during the past few months . We wish them a lot of strength in these dark days and we are very thankful for the good life they have given their G.V. vizslas which are now hunting after the rainbowbridge.
- Filip Thomaere lost his G.V. Csenge at the age of about 13 years
- Ed Buffington had to say good-bye to his G.V. Berek after good 13 years
- Jo Boymans lost his only 8 months old G.V. Ginny “Zegna” in tragic circumstances.
- Bart Colson’s G.V. Duna has been poisoned at the age of 1,5 year.
May 2014 - Dinar, Dorka en Duhay
Some weeks ago Peter Baert and his family had to say goodbye to their so beloved and faithful G.V. Dorka. When she was a puppy, the doctors told she never should have more than two years but she got her 13 years without problems and without medication. It so good to know that Dorka has given the proof that even a university professor is able to make some mistakes.
Totally unexpected G.V. Dinar leaved Mieke Van Den Brande and her family at only 2,5 years of age during the last week of April 2014. He is very greatly missed for his faithfulness and his attachment. It is and it shall always be impossible the reasons why people are poisoning animals!
A couple of days before his 13th birthday, G.V. Duhaj (Dorka’s littermate) left her owner Daniel Duprez; he left this world in complete silence during his night sleep.
We are sure that Dinar, Dorka and Duhay are now happy there over the rainbow bridge where they are hunting, together with all other vizslas, in the eternal hunting fields.
Dear owners, we are very thankful for the affection, the love and the beautiful live you gave your vizsla.
27 july 2013 - Family Day
Our G.V. family day 2013 took place on Saturday July 27th at Kruishoutem (B) and has been just like always, a very interesting and pleasant day. Mrs. Nathalie PARENT, the president of the Vizsla Club de France, has given her comments on the appearance of the 31 present dogs.
Eight of the owners which did the TAN (hunting abilities test) with their dog went back home with a nice certificate.
You will find an impression of this magnificent day at “Media” with a lot of marvelous pictures made by Harry Korst (photographer of the day and proud owner of G.V. Czigány “Ulah”).

Field trial Autumn 2012
On 19th of July 2012 our Gércei-Vadász family gained in the Austrian Burgenland at temperatures of around 35° following results:
- Gércei-Vadász Pengö "Pirre" 1st Good handled by A. Van Der Horn
- Gércei-Vadász Onyx 2nd Good handled by A. De Waele
Astrid Van Der Horn has been successful again in Burgenland on 13th of September handling her G.V. Sándor to a 1st Very Good.
All abovementioned results have been obtained in "open" field trials.
Gércei-Vadász Ulyah “Czigány” handled by her owner Mr. Harry Korst took on the KNJV-tests in Haaften (the Netherlands) the highest C-diploma on August 18th.
We have participated during 3 days at the international field trials during the last week-end of October 2012 in the Burgenland, Austria. Gércei-Vadász Onyx and Gércei-Vadász Remény qualified both on Thursday and on Sunday. On Thursday Onyx preceded his half-sister Remény but Remény took revenge on Sunday. No other continental dog could qualify during this four days event which has been run under totally different weather conditions. On Thursday, at about 18°, the dogs had to manage their job in the fields with very light winds, continually changing their direction and on Sunday the temperature was very near to the freezing point while very strong winds blowing from the North made some ice on the sugar beets and other cover.
Gércei- Vadász Familyday 8-9-2012
Our yearly family day took place in and around the domain “De Zandvlooi” in Kruishoutem (Lozer), Belgium. Were present: 16 Gércei-Vadász vizsla’s with their owners and all enjoyed the very nice weather, the cool drinks, the famous local meals and the traditional very good ambiance.
7 young vizsla’s tried to prove their natural hunting abilities and although the very difficult weather conditions following teams achieved the expected goal:
- Bernie Buteneers with Badu
- Manon Verheyen with Bogár "Sam"
- Nicolas Mortier with Bono
- Gilbert Christiaens with Céda
We thank everyone present for their contribution to the good ambiance and the sportsman- ship and now already we are making appointment to the 2013 edition.
3 september 2012 - Gércei-Vadász Arany
In the late afternoon of Monday 3 September 2012 I had to say goodbye to my Arany; she should have 14 years on November 26th. She gently fell asleep with her head on my knees and went quietly to the eternal hunting fields. Saying goodbye always hurts but knowing that my Arany will not be there anymore is very hard. We had so many beautiful moments together: at home, during the training sessions and the field trials.
These memories will always stay with me. I am sure, my dear Arany, you will find a lot of birds there over behind the rainbow bridge. I am very grateful for the friendship you gave me, even and especially at the moments that for both of us or for you or me life was a little bit harder.
André, your dad, very grateful for all what you have been to me.
Hereby the list of results of official HD examinations of our offspring not living in Gérce;
the results of our offspring living at home can be found under the heading “Dogs”.

Gércei-Vadász Zenith Drago earns two "Challenges"
During the general meeting of the Dutch vizsla club on May 15th 2012 Mrs Bernadette van Drie received two challenges for the nice job she did in 2011 with her male Gércei-Vadász Zenith Drago in the show ring and in the fields.
Drago earned the challenge for:
- the "Best Young Vizsla 2011" (performances until the age of 18 months)
- the "Best smooth haired vizsla 2011".
As far as I know it is the first time in the history of the Dutch vizsla club that a young dog earned both challenges during the same year and in the following year still gained certificates in other than junior field trials. Knowing that Bernadette only in 2011 made her first steps in the show- and in the field trial world can only increase our appreciation for what she performed with her first dog. I am sure that these challenges will be an incentive for her to continue to handle her G.V. Zenith Drago and will be the start of a beautiful field trial career.
